staff very helpful. hotel is on the other side of the fjord, beautiful idyllic location, but not so convenient. we had some vegetarians in the group and the staff was kind enough to accomodate some food we were carrying. rooms are basic but clean.
food was expensive and there are no options to eat except the hotel restaurant.
The View! Room was nice.
Looks like wookshed from outside, however nice incide
One of the few hotels were we could have a room with four people. Nice buffet breakfast with a great view. Our room had a balcony with a nice view of Ballestrand and the Sognadal Fjord. Staff were very nice.
Hotel is next to the ferry station and located in a nice environment. Bathroom had been newly refurbished and along with the room had been clean.
Excellent dinner, great location near hiking trail and ferry
Walls a little thin room small
Nicely refurbished suite in classic wooden annex building, definitely reasonably priced. Stunning fjord views on two sides. Helpful, friendly, knowledgeable English-speaking staff. Good breakfast buffet, home-style dinner OK too. Free hi-speed Internet. Several nice walks starting at hotel, ferries to Hella and Vangsnes practically from doorstep.
Weak to no wifi reception in annex, no tv in suite (but one goes here for nature...). Curtains not able to make bedroom dark during Summer nights. Keep in mind shops and restaurants are 10km away - not necessarily a disadvantage of course.
The views and food
Location was 6KM from the town
Nice place to stay a couple of days while travelling in Norway. We used opportunity to rent the bysicles to explore the vicinities.
Some technical problems: heater didn't work, so it was wet and cold in the room.
beautiful hotel and excellent service
10kms from Balestrand jetty - limited bus service on saturday and sunday
Convenient location with regards to the ferry. Good location with stunning view from the dining room. We had a good room with a balcony overlooking the fjord towards Balestrand
The food options in the hotel were a bit limited in the evening and there were no alternatives within walking distance.
They let us choose our room since it was not crowded. All the rooms (in front and back) and the restaurant have excellent view at the fjord.
Uphill to a mountain height of 1090 meters with unbelivable panoramma of the fjord.
The homemade food is excellent. The restaurant is tidy clean and spacious. The family room is big and very comfortable. The hotel makes you feel warm and comfortable.
trees, blueberries, fjord, ferry, breakfast, browncheese
bed on the sofa, expensive dinner, flies
Interacted with one young lady who worked desk & restaurant, but she was great with her service. Extensive breakfast. Great view from room if taking a fjord-view. Some seating outside to take in views if weather is nice. Few 100m from ferry landing so convenient for driving through west fjord country, but a distance from Balestrand proper. Good advice from hotel to visit enamel workshop on the hill. Nice to visit local artists in their workshop/home and discuss/see their art.
Small rooms (ok since only a solo traveler). Bathrooms could use updating.
